Who is Trinity Arms?
Located in breathtaking Newberg Oregon, Trinity Arms offers a wide range of full gunsmithing services as well as New & Used Firearm Sales, Consignments, Shipping & Receiving (FFL Transfers), Concealed Carry Classes, Firearms Training for all ages & lots of Custom Work. Erik Dyal, founder and owner/operator, has been working on firearms for over 25 years. Erik’s passion for firearms goes back to his childhood. He traces the beginnings back to grade school, when he was fascinated by the old “Life”
magazines from WWII. Photos of all the different arms piqued his curiosity. Soon he found himself reading everything he could get his hands on. The local library could not begin to quench his thirst for knowledge on the topic of firearms. He scrounged around for any gun magazine he could find. Firearms fascinate him in many ways, and he has fired and enjoyed everything from single shot .22′s to exotic hand cannons.
After being an engineer for nearly 10 years, life for Erik took a few interesting turns to say the least. He suffered 4 shoulder injuries, 2 to each shoulder, all 4 requiring surgeries. Unfortunately the last one forced him out of the engineering profession, opening the door for him to follow his passion and lifelong dream of having his own gunsmithing business. Erik had been servicing firearms for friends & family for years as a hobby, but now had the opportunity to pursue it full time. With the support and encouragement of his wife (Tammie, the voice behind the phone) he obtained all the permits & licensing necessary for them to open for business. And it became official: Trinity Arms; “God Bless & Good Shooting!”
A lifelong hunter and outdoorsman, Erik shares his passion with anyone he can. He began to teach his wife Tammie to hunt when they were married in 1996. A pretty fair student, Tammie got her first forked-horn that year! In February ’10, she got her first elk! She and Erik co-own and run Trinity Arms together. Both Erik & Tammie are Certified NRA Instructors as well as Volunteer Hunter Education Instructors for the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife. They enjoy sharing their passion for the outdoors, hunting and shooting sports with people of all ages.
Their oldest of 3 daughters got the hunting bug in 2007, and carried her own rifle (with a custom finish thanks to dad) for the first time. She wasn’t successful until the following year when she got her first buck. Then she got a taste of elk hunting when she packed out her dad’s elk later that year too. Erik & Tammie’s younger 2 daughters are up and coming but enjoy deer seasons with mom, dad, big sis and whoever else is a part of the hunting family each season. Soon they will be mighty huntresses too! It’s a family affair at Trinity, life is good in the great outdoors of Oregon.
