In some cases, the manufacturer or dealer specials are only offered for one day.  In these situations, we are usually able to give you 24 hours advanced notice so you can act quickly on the day of the sale.  Other times, we may give a week-long special and sometimes we even have a sale for a whole month so you can rob all your penny jars to buy that something special you’ve been waiting for.

* Consider setting a little time aside to bless someone outside of your of friends/family this Christmas. There are so many needs and numerous ways to meet them with little or no cost. Give it some thought as you consider your blessings over the past year.

~ The first and most important step in your post season wrap up is to get them dry and clean.  All guns should be torn down ONLY as far as the manufacture suggest.

~ At the very least, get the stock off to allow all moisture to evaporate and keep from causing rust damage to the action and barrel. This is also a good opportunity to be sure there is no hidden debris from your fun out in the field.

**Then your bore needs swabbed with a product like Break-Free or WD~40.  Don’t forget to lube your main contact points like locking lugs.  Again, be sure you refer to the owner’s manual.  (if you don’t have one, check the manufacturer website, they generally offer them for free download)

~ ALWAYS use a bore guide if you use a rod cleaning system. Bore guides are inexpensive and absolutely imperative to prevent damage to your muzzle, barrel and rifling.  If you’re looking for something safer, quicker and easier, pick up a bore~snake and a cotton rag for a failproof, super quick, proper cleaning.  The whole process should not exceed 10 – 15minutes per gun.  Take it any further and you’re likely to be visiting us for help!

~ Lastly, whether you have a gun safe to store your guns or only a case (soft or hard) for storage, you really need to use some type of desiccant (similar to Dri-Z-Air) to make sure moisture doesn’t ruin your firearms.  Gun cases are the least preferred method of storage, but if it’s all you have, use what you’ve got until you can afford more secure storage.
